libtime-out-perl software package provides module to easily timeout long running operations, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libtime-out-perl
libtime-out-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libtime-out-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libtime-out-perl *
You will get with libtime-out-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
